515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484-2177 / FAX: (612) 4844538
October 7, 1994
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant
RE: Country Drive Speed Study
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morel=
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
As a result of the speed study requested by the City, attached is
the recommendation from the MN Department of Transportation for
an increase in speed limit on Country Drive between Little Canada
Road and Rice Street from 30 mph to 35 mph. A condition of the
higher speed limit is that street signage be evaluated and
upgraded at the curves, and that the speed limit on curves be
posted at 30 mph. Commander Bergeron of the Sheriff's Department
has stated their initial preference is for the speed limit to
stay at 30 mph, but they are comfortable with this
recommendation.
Authorization for Public Works to proceed with the evaluation and
revisions of signage on curves and posting speed limit signs is
required.
cc: Frank Frattalone
Page 44
