MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
OCTOBER 13, 1994
ABRA
ADJOURN
the Commission within 2 to 3 weeks for review at the
November meeting. There is the need to cover a lot of
ground in November, so that Rice Street can be
finalized in December.
The Planner pointed out the problem with current B -3
zoning along Rice Street in that the uses allowed in
the B -2 zoning automatically roll over into the B -3.
The Planner reported that he will be proposing some
specific B -2 Districts as well as specific B -3
Districts.
The City Planner reported that because of the 90 -day
development moratorium, the Abra request for rezoning
to PUD is currently on hold. There was also some
discussion by Abra about applying for a Conditional Use
Permit for their business under the existing B -3
zoning. The attorneys for Abra were making the claim
that minor auto body repair is a conditional use under
the B -3 District and that the Abra operation
constituted minor auto body repair. The City Planner
stated that he disagreed with this position, and feels
that the Abra business is major auto body repair.
Mr. Davison recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Keis.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:37 P.M.
Respectfully,/ submitted,
d
'
Kathy c anzer
Administrative Assistant
9
