MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />December 1, 1994 <br />Wehrle recommended that the City retain the tax forfeited <br />property on County Road B2 for wetland and open space <br />purposes. <br />Motion seconded by Johnson. <br />Motion carried 3 - 2. Remerowski and Greger voted against. <br />ON SITE The Director stated that On Site Sanitation has purchased <br />SANITATION the building formerly owned by Fuel Economy on Woodlynn <br />LOT SPLIT Avenue. He indicated that the new owner wants to move a lot <br />line in order to sell off one of his lots. The Director <br />indicated that the parcel is commercially zoned and is <br />surrounded by commercial property. <br />Wehrle felt that there would be no benefit in acquiring park <br />land in that area. The Director agreed. <br />Greger asked if there is access to the Waterworks trail from <br />Rice Street in that area. Sanders stated that there is <br />public right -of -way on Woodlynn Avenue that goes down to the <br />Water Works property where the present trail could <br />eventually be expanded to. <br />Wehrle recommended accepting cash in lieu of land for the <br />park charge on the On Site Sanitation parcel located on <br />Woodlynn Avenue. <br />Motion seconded by Remerowski. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />MASTERPIECE The Director stated that Masterpiece Homes is developing <br />HOMES 36 to 40 double homes on Minnesota Avenue. He indicated <br />SUBDIVISION that a homeowners association will govern the wooded outlot <br />area as open land, and the development abuts the Capitol <br />View school property. The Director stated that the <br />developer is targeting empty - nesters for this project. <br />Remerowski asked what the valuation of the units will be. <br />The Director was unsure, but he thought they were to be <br />rather expensive. He stated that it is a beautiful, wooded <br />area. <br />Sanders felt that it looked like a good development, and <br />there would be no need to take the wooded area if protected <br />by the association. Remerowski felt that the future use of <br />the outlot should be addressed so it cannot ever be <br />developed.
