Team Pictures for Coaches - $300
These are given all coaches who desire one to keep as a
memento of the season.
5. Youth Skating Party - $750
This annual event is held the first Saturday in
February, and is open to all children of the community.
Games, prizes, hot dogs, pop, chips, candy, clowns, and
balloons are among the things that are provided at no
charge to the participants.
6. Tournament Entry Fees - $300
This money was provided to help defray costs for our
youth teams that entered into tournaments other than
those associated with their regular season schedules.
7. Safety Camp - $500
This donation helped to subsidize the cost of this
program which was a cooperative effort between the
Parks and Recreation Departments in the cities of
Little Canada, Roseville, Falcon Heights, and
Lauderdale.
8. Coach Appreciation Picnic - $725
This annual event is held for all coaches who coached
during the previous year. Held in Spooner Park in late
August, it serves as a way to thank all of our coaches
and spouses for their time and effort during the past
year. Food and refreshments are served and door prizes
given. This expresses the gratitude of the LCRA
together with the Parks and Recreation Department staff
in a way that would otherwise not be possible to convey
from the City alone.
The above direct support of our youth programs resulted in
donations of over $13,500 during this past year. This, coupled
with the invaluable collective advice from their membership at
regular meetings, helped to keep our youth athletic activities
both popular and affordable.
I hope the above information conveys the importance of the LCRA
to our City and its youth programs. In these busy times, it all
too often happens that organizations such as this do not receive
the recognition they deserve.
Page 224
