13. Building Official shall not be required, but may be <br />requested from time to time, to attend Little Canada City Council <br />meetings. Building Official shall attend preconstruction <br />meetings for commercial and residential projects as needed. <br />14. City shall, if requested by Building <br />input from its fire department, police service <br />works superintendent, planning consultant, and <br />members as appropriate to each building permit <br />Official, provide <br />provider, public <br />other staff <br />application. <br />15. Building Official shall have the exclusive initial <br />authority to determine interpretations and applications of the <br />building code to projects within the City. Notwithstanding the <br />foregoing, Building Official shall confer with the City <br />Administrator of City before issuing any such interpretations and <br />applications of the building code which might have an <br />extraordinary significant effect on projects within the City. <br />Building Official shall also have the right and responsibility to <br />issue stop orders and citations on violations of the building <br />code on any project determined not to be in compliance with the <br />terms and provisions of the building code. Enforcement and <br />prosection of the building code requirements by way of judicial <br />action for either criminal or civil sanction shall remain the <br />exclusive responsibility of City. Building Official shall <br />cooperate in any enforcement procedures. <br />16. Upon completion of all building inspections associated <br />with any specific permit, Building Official shall file the <br />original inspection records along with the plans with the City. <br />All such plans shall be kept on file pursuant to State law. All <br />such original records shall remain the exclusive property of <br />City. <br />II. SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES <br />1. Fees and charges shall be collected by City from the <br />applicant upon issuance of the building permit. <br />2. The valuation of a permit structure for purposes shall <br />be determined by Building Official and shall be calculated by <br />multiplying the square foot area of the proposed structure times <br />the building valuation factor as published annually by the <br />Building Codes and Standards Division of the State of Minnesota <br />Department of Administration. The building permit fee shall be <br />computed using the fee schedule listed in the current edition of <br />the Uniform Building Code as adopted by the State of Minnesota. <br />Fees for plumbing permits shall be established by resolution of <br />the City Council. <br />3. The fees and charges set forth on Exhibit "A" are <br />exclusive of fees and charges required by the State of Minnesota <br />for electrical permits and inspections. <br />-3- <br />Page 30 <br />
