It will provide youth with a safe, secure <br />and productive environment after school, and will be of benefit to parents who are not home in <br />the afternoon due to work responsibilities. <br />The Youth Activity Center promises considerable impact on program quality. In addition to its <br />recreational offerings, the Center will provide opportunities for youth and staff to discuss <br />community Issues; thus, theNYFS program will have first-hand information and perspectives <br />from its clientele, and will receive valuable advice on program development. Once the project <br />has been implemented, NYFS expects to serve an additional 1,500 youth per year as a result of <br />the Youth Activity Center. <br />4. Completion of coordinated services concept: The Youth Activity Center will help to complete <br />the organization's goal to develop a multiplicity of coordinated services under one roof. It will <br />further enhance the organization's commitment to building stronger collaborative relationships <br />within the service area. <br />Page 37 <br />
