Hanson <br />Attached is the Engineer's report on the Dianna Lane retaining <br />wall issue. Based on the information presented, it would be the <br />recommendation of staff that a key -stone wall be substituted for <br />the current wall. By doing so, we do not create a situation <br />where there would be unmanageable slopes which could pose safety <br />concerns and detract from the aesthetics of the neighborhood, or <br />create a condition where existing trees and property would be <br />impacted to minimize the steepness of the slope. <br />The issue to be resolved is who will pay for this cost. Based <br />upon comments made at an earlier meeting, I am assuming the <br />Council feels a cost - sharing relationship is in order. To be <br />equitable to all taxpayers of the City, I feel a 50/50 split may <br />be the most reasonable. Your direction is needed to proceed. <br />cc: Jack Desai <br />Page 54 <br />
