♦ An assessment of the educational needs of minority <br />students in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties for <br />the St. Paul Foundation. <br />♦ A survey of parents and daughters in Minneapolis, <br />conducted for the Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council, to <br />identify reasons girls are not members of Girl Scouts and to <br />assess how Girl Scouts can increase the likelihood that they <br />will become involved. <br />• We designed and implemented a community study for <br />Fairview Riverside Hospital to assist in decision making <br />related to the purchase of St. Marys Hospital. Image and <br />awareness were the bases for their decision. <br />• A survey of residents in 30 communities in four states to <br />assess residents' familiarity and image of their local bank <br />and its various competitors. <br />♦ A survey of residents in a five- county area of Pennsylvania, <br />including Philadelphia, regarding travel behavior, conducted <br />for the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. <br />• Surveys of residents in two counties in Michigan, conducted <br />for their respective planning commissions, conceming issues <br />related to land use and quality of life. <br />• Studies for Maryland National Bank of its gold customers <br />regarding their satisfaction with services, ideas for new <br />services, and their image of other area banks. <br />♦ Several studies for the Federal Reserve Bank regarding <br />services that could be provided and overall satisfaction <br />with current products and services. <br />♦ An image study for a large healthcare system in Detroit, <br />involving focus groups with residents, past patients, and <br />hospital employees; a telephone survey of community <br />residents; and a mail survey of employees. Key issues in the <br />resident survey included perceptions of the hospital and its <br />competitors in terms of care, selected attributes, usage <br />preferences, satisfaction, as well as other factors. <br />♦ A survey of community residents in the primary and <br />secondary service areas of a proposed hospital for the <br />HealthEast management company to determine the optimum <br />location and name for the new hospital. The eventual <br />name of the hospital and its location were supported by the <br />survey findings. <br />Page 25 <br />17 <br />
