Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Pay Equity Report
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached is a copy of the Pay Equity Implementation Report we were
required to submit to the State of Minnesota by January 31, 1994.
The job class information component of the report was done utilizing
the State job match books and salary scales which had been discussed
with the Council and Employees in the Fall of 1993. Upon receipt of
this information the State will conduct statistical analysis to
determine if we are in compliance with pay equity regulations. The
results of their compliance review will be forwarded to us as soon as
they are completed.
It could be possible that corrections will be needed in a couple of
job categories. This would be due to the fact that health insurance
contributions have been added to the salary maximums for the attached
job classes. For the female- dominated jobs where health insurance is
not available due to "part- time" status, compliance may not be
achieved. This same condition existed in 1991 and we were in
compliance at that time. Depending on the statistical analysis, we
may be O.K. again.
It is my recommendation that the Council adopt this report as
presented.
Page 28
