Hanson
April 8, 1994
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant
RE: Guidelines for 10% Gambling Expenditures
After the March 23rd Council meeting, I contacted each of the
organizations involved in charitable gambling in the City and
asked for their comments on the "Guidelines for 10% Gambling
Expenditures" as well as whether or not they were interested in
representation on the 10% Committee. Below is a summary of their
comments:
Canadian Days - The Guidelines are adequate and spell out
the process for expenditures of this
money in a fair and equitable manner.
Would like representation on the Committee.
Little Canada Charity Plus - The Guidelines are good.
Not interested in Committee representation
at this time.
Little Canada Fire Department - The Fire Department felt
that the process worked in the past, and the
Committee did a fine job. Therefore,
there is no need to change the composition
of the 10% Committee.
If the Committee structure is changed, the
Fire Chief would like to be a part of the
Committee as a department head
representative, and would like the Fire
Department Gambling Manager representing
the Department's charitable gambling
perspective.
Lake Owasso Residence - The Guidelines look fine.
Would like representation on the Committee.
North Suburban Youth Association - No response to my letter
by deadline. Bob Matson was unavailable to
return my phone calls.
Page 13
