Hanson <br />TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Dave Harris, Superintendent of Public Works <br />DATE: April 8, 1994 <br />RE: Street Sweeping Bids <br />We received three bids, one from Allied Blacktop at $59.95 per <br />hour, one from Mike McPhillips at $57.00 per hour and one from <br />Leier Maintenance at $56.00 per hour. In the past we have used <br />McPhillips, Inc. and their work and service has been exemplary. <br />I have checked with several other cities about Leier Maintenance <br />and all the recommendations for them were not glowing. They said <br />that they do the work and do a very adequate job. <br />I recommend at this time that we go with the low bid by Leier <br />Maintenance at $56.00 per hour. If problems arise, we will be <br />able to revert back to McPhillips and use their services <br />accordingly. <br />DBH:bj <br />Page 12 <br />
