MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 9, 2013 <br />MODIFICATIONS TO BE APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />DEMOLITION The City Administrator reported that hazardous materials abatement has <br />QUOTES — been completed for 3046 LaBore Road He indicated that requests for <br />3046 LABORE quotes for demolition of the structures on this property were sent to 8 to <br />ROAD 10 contractors. Quotes were received from 5. The low quote is from Nitti <br />Rolloff Services, Inc. in the amount of $15,140. The high quote was in the <br />amount of $24,500. The Administrator indicated that Nitti Rolloff <br />Services is a reputable contractor, and recommended award of the low bid. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -10 -186 — AWARDING THE LOW QUOTE <br />OF NITTI ROLLOFF SERVICES, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$15,140 FOR THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES AT 3046 <br />LABORE ROAD AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />NUMBER Blesener reported that he was approached by the owner of an off -sale <br />OF OFF -SALE liquor store in Little Canada requesting that the City reduce the number of <br />LIQUOR off -sale licenses from three to two. There are currently two liquor stores <br />LICENSES operating in the City, and the third recently closed. This individual has <br />indicated that business has been poor for both his and the other operating <br />liquor store. It is his hope that allowing only two liquor stores in the City <br />will help improve business. Blesener indicated that he has this individual <br />if business has improved since Moon Bay Liquor closed, and his response <br />was that it has not. Blesener suggested that there are likely discount liquor <br />outlets outside of Little Canada that have more impact on business. <br />Keis stated that he did not support limiting business. Montour noted that <br />the City has limits on certain types of business, i.e., liquor and tobacco. <br />Keis agreed, but suggested that if an upscale restaurant were to locate in <br />6 <br />
