MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 10, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of <br />October, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Ms. Jennifer Maleitzke <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />Mr. Nick Schwalbach <br />ABSENT: Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The September 12, 2013 Planning Commission meeting minutes were <br />approved as submitted. <br />PUD PERMIT Mr. Dirk Bordsen appeared before the Commission requesting approval <br />FOR INTERIM of a Planned Unit Development (PUD) Permit for an Interim Use on <br />USE — property located at 2968 Rice Street. <br />2968 RICE <br />STREET — The City Planner reviewed his October 3, 2013 report in detail. He <br />BORDSEN indicated that this property is for sale; and Dirk Bordsen, owner of the <br />adjacent property would like to purchase it and reuse the existing <br />buildings for a variety of commercial uses. The Planner reported that <br />Bordsen has indicated that he will make a series of improvements to the <br />various buildings on the property. However, Bordsen is requesting the use <br />of some of the parking areas /drive aisles with Class V surfacing. The <br />Planner indicated that the site plan submitted should demonstrate <br />sufficient parking for the proposed uses. He also indicated that it was not <br />possible to designate organized parking without paved and striped spaces. <br />Therefore, he would not recommend the use of gravel surfaces for parking <br />areas on commercial property, even on an interim basis. <br />
