Hemstad, PE, SE <br />Senior Professional Engineer <br />In practice for nearly 30 years, Mr. Hemstad has served as a Project <br />Manager and Structural Engineer on architectural and industrial buildings, <br />historic structures, bridges, water, and wastewater treatment plants, large <br />sewer structures, dams, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures. Mike <br />has performed inspection and load rating of more than 1,000 bridges in <br />several states. As a team leader, Mike's responsibilities include structural <br />design, leadership of structural teams, coordination with other project <br />disciplines, and budget management. He is proficient in the use of all types <br />of structural systems and delivery methods, including complex projects with <br />multiple bid packages. Mike also has significant experience working with <br />preservation experts and officials on rehabilitation projects and the <br />restoration of historic buildings, bringing to each project an approach that is <br />strongly focused on meeting preservation and architectural design criteria, <br />while ensuring public safety. <br />Experience <br />Bridges <br />County Road J /Hwy 10 Bridge — Ramsey County, Minn. Structural <br />Engineer for the advanced analysis and design of a highly skewed four -span <br />bridge with 78 in. steel plate girders. <br />Victoria Street Bridge over I -694 and County Road E Bridge over <br />I -35E— Cities of Shoreview and Vadnais Heights, Minn. Structural <br />Engineer for the design of two -span prestressed beam bridges. <br />La Crosse Airport Runway Light Bridge — City of La Crosse, Wis. <br />Structural Engineer for preliminary design of a series of 400 ft. span <br />three -chord space trusses extending landing lights onto Lake Onalaska. <br />Pedestrian Suspension Bridge (University of Minnesota- Minneapolis, <br />Minn.) — City of Minneapolis, Minn. Structural Engineer for the analysis <br />of an existing suspension bridge displaced by street reconstruction, to <br />determine load - carrying capacity and suitability for relocation. <br />Cobban Bridge — Chippewa County, Wis.
