MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 7th day of November, 2013, in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Patti Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Prod. <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the October 3, <br />2013 meeting. <br />BALLFIELD The Director reported that the Ballfield Usage Policy Committee has not <br />USAGE met yet. That Committee consists of Linda Fahey, replacing Dan Slain, <br />POLICY Kong Vang, the two Recreation Program Supervisors, and himself. The <br />Director indicated that the Committee would meet over the winter and <br />then bring a recommendation to the Commission for review. <br />56 LITTLE <br />CANADA ROAD <br />The Director reported that the City Council discussed the acquisition of <br />the property at 56 Little Canada Road, but felt the asking price was too <br />high. The Council decided to take a wait and see approach if the price <br />will be reduced for this property. Maida asked if an offer is made on the <br />property whether or not the realtor would let the City know. The Director <br />replied that he believes that is the understanding that the City has with the <br />realtor. Sanders asked if improvements could be made to the property. <br />The Director was not sure, but thought that based on the zoning of the <br />property, he did not think substantial improvements would be allowed. <br />FIRE BARNS The Director presented the Commission with architectural drawings of <br />WARMING the Fire Barns Warming House Project. He noted that the project estimate <br />HOUSE is approximately $23,000 over the $150,000 budgeted by the City. The <br />PROJECT Council reviewed the project and their decision was to stay with the <br />UPDATE $150,000 estimate. The Little Canada Recreation Association (LCRA) <br />has agreed to donate $10,000 toward the project, leaving a shortage of <br />
