MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 25, 2013 <br />SCHEDULE <br />ARCHITECT <br />INTERVIEWS <br />FOR <br />PUBLIC WORKS - <br />PARKS FACILITY <br />G.O. <br />CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />PLAN <br />The Administrator indicated that he also clarified with Steele Construction <br />that the project would likely be a pure agency construction management <br />project, with no performance of actual construction work by the firm. <br />That was acceptable to Steele Construction. <br />The Council discussed the merits of each firm at length, and it was the <br />consensus of the Council to hire James Steele Construction. <br />Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -11 -217 — AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS <br />FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS /PARKS FACILITY WITH JAMES STEELE <br />CONSTRUCTION AND BRING A PROPOSED CONTRACT BACK <br />TO THE COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator indicated that in order to keep the process <br />moving forward, he would recommend that a date be set to conduct <br />interviews for architectural firms for the Public Works /Parks Facility. <br />I-Ie indicated that the RFP will go out within the next day or two, with <br />a submission deadline of December 9°'. The Administrator recommended <br />an interview date for Monday, December 16th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -11 -218 — CALLING A COUNCIL <br />WORKSHOP MEETING FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2013, AT <br />5:30 P.M. TO CONDUCT ARCHITECT INTERVIEWS FOR THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS /PARKS FACILITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reviewed his November 22, 2013 report noting <br />that Mark Ruff, Ehlers & Associates, has indicated that the preferred <br />method to finance the Public Works /Parks Facility would be to make use <br />of General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds.
