PAID TIME OFF (PTO) <br />All provisions listed below are yet to be determined. <br />Years of Service Number of Days <br />0 -5 Years 18 <br />6 -15 Years 23 <br />16 -20 Years 28 <br />21+ Years 30 <br />Conversion of Existing Vacation Balances <br />100% of vacation balances will be converted to PTO. <br />Conversion of Existing Sick Leave Balances <br />• 4 days of sick leave may be converted to PTO in 2014. (These days would be a direct <br />deduction from Severance Pay Off.) <br />• 4 days of sick leave may be converted to PTO in 2015. (These days would be a direct <br />deduction from Severance Pay Off.) <br />• Remaining sick leave balances will be retained as a Deferred Sick Leave Bank that can <br />be used for extended sick leave (5 day minimum leave) with documented need, including <br />the care of another. <br />• Deferred Sick Leave balance paid off at termination under current Severance Pay <br />provision in Personnel Policy. <br />Carry Over of PTO from Year to Year <br />Maximum 30 days of PTO can be carried over from one year to the next. <br />(Staff would recommend 65 days of carry over to bridge the gap to Long Term Disability LTD.) <br />Short Term Disability <br />Self - insured by the City. A bank of sick leave days will be established for employee's use for <br />catastrophic events if all banked sick leave and PTO has been exhausted. Usage of this bank will <br />be allowed based on a policy yet to be drafted as well as upon individual circumstances and with <br />approval by the City Administrator. <br />Pay Off At Termination <br />PTO would be paid off in cash at termination. Maximum payoff would be annual accrual plus <br />maximum carry -over. <br />Leaving Employment <br />PTO could not be used to extend length of service. Employee must work final days of <br />employment. <br />Department Heads <br />Department Heads would have an additional 5 days of PTO each year subject to satisfactory <br />performance. <br />
