MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 18, 2013 <br />APPOINT <br />COUNCIL <br />REPRESENT- <br />ATIVES TO <br />PUBLIC WORKS/ <br />PARKS <br />FACILITY <br />DESIGN <br />COMMITTEE <br />The City Administrator agreed that Oertel received extremely strong <br />recommendations from other cities that have utilized their services. The <br />Administrator felt that Oertel's experience coupled with the <br />recommendations received, made this firm the top choice. The <br />Administrator also noted that Oertel provided the lowest cost estimate of <br />the firms interviewed. <br />Keis agreed with the comments made. McGraw stated that all three firms <br />were exceptional, but indicated that he liked Oertel's communication <br />style. Boss agreed that all three firms could do the job, and indicated that <br />she had the most confidence in HCM. However, she would support Oertel <br />if that is the consensus. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -12 -237 — SELECTING OERTEL <br />ARCHITECTS, LTD AS THE ARCHITECT FOR THE CITY'S <br />PUBLIC WORKS /PARKS FACILITY SUBJECT TO EXECUTION OF <br />A CONTRACT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported on the need to form a Public Works /Parks <br />Facility Design Committee and to have a broad -based group of individuals <br />on that committee. The Administrator recommended that two Council <br />representatives be appointed to that group. He noted that most committee <br />meetings would occur during the day. The Administrator also reported <br />that the Council would be keep updated on the committee's progress and <br />would also be involved in presentations and decisions on key design <br />elements. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -12 -238 — APPOINTING MAYOR <br />BLESENER AND COUNCIL MEMBER McGRAW TO THE PUBLIC <br />WORKS /PARKS FACILITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5) <br />Nays (0).
