rrr;r.
Ram' (Ts PROJECT UNDERSTANDING
It is our understanding, based on the RFP, that the project will include the
following:
All architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and
structural engineering services, analysis, evaluation and design. In addition,
we will include all special systems selection and design (fueling systems, lube
reel equipment, bulk tube storage, etc.), as well as interior design.
The existing 6,000 square foot building, at the recently purchased site (along
with any addition(s) and any separate buildings on site) will be evaluated and
designed to meet current safety, environmental, structural, energy
management, code requirements, and operational standards to ensure that
the facility Is fully functional.
The work would include all necessary steps for the proposed changes,
potential additions, new construction, systems upgrades, improvements,
modernization, code requirement upgrades, and technological
advancements to improve energy management and to ensure work
environment safety.
We understand that the proposed project will include the following work:
• Working as a team with the Construction Manager James Steele
Construction, the City of Little Canada, and all stakeholders to ensure
the success of the project.
• Regular attendance at Planning Project Team meetings and City
Council meetings / presentations.
• Develop a functional space analysis and space program for the Public
Works and Parks facility to ensure current and future needs are met.
• Assist the Construction Manager in the development of accurate cost
estimates throughout the entire project timeline.
• Adherence to the master project schedule to ensure that the project
is delivered on time.
• Incorporate environmentally, energy - efficient, sustainable design
elements into the overall building project which minimize initial cost
implications.
• Develop building design options which minimize costs (value
engineering), provide ease of construction, maintain the construction
schedule, minimize long -term (life- cycle) costs, and provide long-
term value.
30
9"'"un..•••d 2
