PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br />• Work with the Construction Manager to develop bid packages which <br />provide the most benefit to the interest of the City, the budget, and <br />the schedule. <br />• Assist the Construction Manager and the City in developing the <br />contract documents required for the Agency Construction <br />Management project delivery method. <br />• Assist the Construction Manager in the development of work scopes <br />and bid packages which provide the most benefit to the City, <br />minimize change orders, and allow the City to make direct material <br />purchases to the extent possible (to take advantage of the City's <br />sales tax exempt status). <br />• Comply with all building, zoning, ADA, and life- safety codes. <br />• Work with the Construction Manager and all stakeholders during the <br />bidding process to minimize change orders, clarify any questions, and <br />resolve any construction concerns, in order to protect the interest of <br />the City. <br />• Provide effective and regular communication with all parties <br />involved, the Construction Manager, the City representative, the <br />contractors, and all stakeholders to ensure the success of the <br />project. <br />• Assist the Construction Manager and the City during the entire <br />construction and bidding process to minimize and evaluate change <br />orders, assist in permitting, evaluation of pay requests, attend <br />regular construction meetings, prepare punch - lists, and provide <br />overall construction administration. <br />• Provide Architectural designs which fit within the surrounding <br />neighborhood, which minimize impacts from noise of operations, <br />provide screening for outdoor storage and operations, to ensure the <br />City remains a good neighbor to the surrounding neighborhood. <br />• Design of a salt storage facility. <br />• Meet the functional requirements of the Public Works and Parks <br />Departments in the design of the new site and buildings, throughout <br />the entire design and construction process. <br />• Landscape design which includes screening for neighboring <br />properties and the public right of way, without compromising safety <br />and security concerns. <br />• Encompass modern technology capabilities for all systems. <br />31 <br />3 <br />
