At the request of the McKnight Foundation, development
and implementation of natural resources education
strategies for watershed residents, local government
officials and staffs, and other key groups. This
strategy plan will look at ways we can use existing or new
resources to best educate target groups in the watershed
about priority land and water management issues. Local
communities and cities will help us to develop these strategies
and determine target audiences, so that they are most useful in
addressing local issues.
Evaluate street sweeping practices, and develop a
cooperative plan and shared resources among
interested cities to manage street sweeping to reduce
harmful impacts on local lakes.
Assist cities with new development or redevelopment
projects, by researching and recommending practices to
manage storm water, wetlands, and other resources, at your
request. Some examples could include the Rice Street
redevelopment area in Little Canada and Wolters
Boulevard/Highway 61 area in Vadnais Heights.
The Project Staff and Committee would like your ideas for
additional items to include in our work plan for 1996, so that
we provide the assistance that is most useful to you.
Page 10
