515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Dave Harris, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: September 8, 1995
RE: Organized Collection Contract
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim IaValle
Steve Moretan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Our contract with the haulers for organized refuse collection has
expired. The Code Enforcement Official, the City Administrator,
and myself are in the process of reviewing this contract. We
have obtained information from other cities so that we may put
together an offer with the haulers to get the best deal we
possibily can for our citizens. We will be looking into
increasing the recyclable items collected among other items.
At this time, we are requesting that the Council authorize the
extension of the expired contract until Friday, November 24, 1995
in order to give City staff additional time to review it. The
haulers have indicated that they have no problem with the
extension and are more than willing to negotiate with the City.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free
to contact me at your earliest convenience.
DBH:kpv
PAGE 125
