Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
The City received four estimates for the hazardous materials
survey that needs to be done on the old fire station. The survey
needs to be done as a condition to our architectural contract as
well as a requirement for the Community Development Block Grant
monies we are receiving from Ramsey County.
The estimates I received were from MacNeil Environmental,
Sheltertech Corporation, Angstrom Analytical & Environmental
Services, and Delta Environmental Consultants. The estimates
ranged from $1,020 to $4,000 with the lowest two being MacNeil
Environmental at $1,020 and Sheltertech at $1,175.
My recommendation is to elicit the services of MacNeil
Environmental at $1,020. Their service will include 15 asbestos
samples in the building, two asbestos samples of the roof, five
lead samples of interior paint throughout the building, and a
report which includes location of samples and their findings.
JP:kv
PAGE 124
