Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Trapezoid- Shaped Property Adjacent to Rue Property
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim IaValle
Steve Morel=
Bob Pedersen _.
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R Hanson
Don Rue has expressed interest in purchasing the trapezoid- shaped
piece of City property adjacent to his property in Yorkton
Industrial Park. Mr. Rue would like this property in order to
provide additional parking area for the Trane Building at 20
Yorkton Industrial Court.
The Park & Recreation Commission discussed this issue early in
1994, and concluded that any park development in this area would
be better located on the McNamara property which abutts Jackson
Street. Therefore, the Commission indicated a willingness to
sell the parcel to Mr. Rue. (See minutes attached.)
I have informed Mr. Rue that the purchase price would be based on
an appraisal of the property. The costs associated with the
appraisal, as well as transfer of the property to Mr. Rue would
need to be borne by him. Mr. Rue has indicated acceptance of
these terms as indicated in the attached letter.
Page 74
