MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 10, 1995
LITTLE
CANADA MALL
height is measured by using an average of the ridge and
eve of the roof. The Planner reported that raising the
roof on the garage would require only a building permit
application, and no other zoning action.
The City Planner reported that the owners of the Little
Canada Mall have property abutting Viking Drive. They
have asked for the City's reaction to the development
of a tire or retail auto parts store on this site.
Such a use would require a rezoning to B -2.
Garske felt Viking Drive was a good location for this
type of use.
Schletty felt the problem was access onto Rice Street.
Carson suggested that a connection be made to Minnesota
Avenue.
The Planner did not believe there was room to make such
a road connection.
It was the consensus of the Commission that development
of a tire or auto parts store on Viking Drive was a
reasonable use of the area. The Planner agreed that
the area was a good auto - related site.
TOWN MEETING The Commission was reminded that the town meeting on
the Rice Street Study is scheduled for Tuesday, August
15th, at 7 P.M. at City Hall.
ADJOURN Keis recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Barraclough.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:42 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy G nzer
Administrative Assistant
8
Page 45
