]. <br />4; <br />SECTION 24 <br />SIGNS <br />(7) Major Tenant Logos on a Freestanding Sign: <br />If a shopping center wishes to display the logotypes of its major tenant(s) on its freestanding <br />shopping center identification sign(s): <br />(a) The total area of the various elements of Me freestanding sign may not exceed the total <br />allowable area of a freestanding sign. <br />(b) No more than two tenants may be displayed in this manner on each freestanding <br />shopping center identification sign. <br />(c) The tenant logotypes and shopping center name (if included) shall be displayed on a <br />single sign structure. <br />(d) The tenant signs shall be designed and arranged to appear as an integrated whole. <br />Namely, the proportions of the two signs shall be approximately equal: the materials, method of illumination, and <br />method of display (individual letters vs. panel) should be the same: and both signs should be arranged within a <br />rectangular area. <br />'1'72_ .4 if; . (8) Grouping Small Wall Signs: <br />When a number of small wall signs are grouped together, such as at the entrance of an interior <br />"mini- mall," those signs must be arranged in a framework or common display system which gives the impression <br />of a single, larger sign. Type styles may differ but the method of construction and illumination and the display <br />format (individual letters vs. panel) must be the same. <br />(9) Other Identification Signs in Shopping Center= <br />(a) If a canopy or other building overhang is used, each store may have an under- canopy <br />identification sign not exceeding 4 square feet <br />(b) Each store may have an identification sign on its door not exceeding 3 square feet. <br />(10) Gas Station Canopy Signs: <br />Signs on gasoline pump area canopies shall be regarded as freestanding signs and regulated as <br />such. One exception is that a logotype or price sign of up to 9 square feet shall be allowed on each canopy side <br />visible from a public right -of -way. <br />(11) Campaign Signs: <br />Campaign yard signs posted by a bona fide candidate for political office or by a person or <br />group promoting a political issue or a political candidate may be placed in any District Such signs may be <br />posted for a period not to exceed 60 days and must be removed within seven days following the date of the <br />election. Such signs shall be limited to 8 square feet and 3 feet in height above the grade of the posting area or <br />as determined acceptable by Council review. Signs must be placed on private property with the permission of <br />the owner. No such signs are allowed in the public right -of -way. <br />(12) Construction Signs: <br />Temporary signs may be erected for the purpose of selling or promoting a residential, <br />commercial, or industrial project provided: <br />(a) Such signs shall not exceed 60 square feet in area per side, <br />70 <br />Page 52 <br />
