DESOTO <br />STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 1, 1991 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 1st day of May, 1991 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired the meeting and called it <br />to order at 7:30 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />City Admin. <br />City Engineer <br />Rec. Secretary <br />Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Mr. Rick Collova <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Mr. Mike Lynch <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />Mayor Hanson opened the public hearing to consider <br />the improvement of Desoto Street, between the south <br />line of LaBore Road and the north line of Allen Avenue, <br />as well as the improvement of the southern portion of <br />Costa Lane from DeSoto Street on the west extending <br />approximately 104 feet east by watermain, sanitary <br />sewer, storm drainage, curb and gutter, and bituminous <br />street. <br />The City Engineer described the improvement <br />location, pointing out that he is proposing <br />wide street right -of -way at this time. The <br />reported that once survey work is completed <br />existing utilities location, it is possible <br />right -of -width could be narrower. <br />and its <br />a 66 foot <br />Engineer <br />and <br />that <br />The Engineer proposed a bituminous width of 36 feet for <br />the street. It was pointed out that residential <br />streets are usually 32 feet in width, however, the <br />Engineer is proposing parallel parking be allowed on <br />the west side of the street adjacent to Pioneer Park. <br />The Engineer recommended surmountable curb and gutter <br />on the east side of Desoto to allow for home <br />Page 3 <br />
