(A) Bulky Items. Large household items, including <br />refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, water <br />heaters, carpeting and padding, mattresses, chairs, couches, <br />tables, and other such items of furniture. <br />(B) Collection Service. Collection service is a private or <br />public operation engaged in collection and transportation of <br />refuse, yard waste and recyclables. <br />(C) Day- Certain Collection. Day- certain collection is a City <br />approved plan for weekly collection services by an established <br />day- certain schedule. This schedule requires refuse, yard waste <br />and recyclable collection on the same day of each week and is based <br />on a five day, Monday through Friday, work week. The only <br />exceptions to the "day- certain" plan shall be during those weeks in <br />which legal holidays occur. <br />(D) Garbage. Garbage is organic waste, including discarded <br />materials resulting from the handling, processing, storage, <br />preparation, serving and consumption of food. Garbage does not <br />include yard waste. Garbage does not include items set for the <br />recycling program. <br />(E) Place of Business. Any social, commercial, fraternal, <br />religious, educational, medical, or industrial establishment, town <br />houses, and apartments with three or more dwelling units. <br />(F) Recyclable Materials. Recyclable materials are reusable <br />or reprocessable materials that are mutually agreed upon by the <br />City and its contractor. Recyclable materials may include such <br />items as newsprint, corrugated ledger paper, bi -metal cans, <br />aluminum, plastic, and glass. Recyclable materials specifically <br />excludes refuse and yard waste. <br />(G) Recycling Collection Service. The collection of <br />recyclable materials accumulated in recycling containers set out <br />for the purpose of recycling at any residence in the City receiving <br />garbage and refuse collection. <br />(H) Refuse. Refuse is putrescible and nonputrescible solid <br />waste, including garbage and rubbish. Refuse specifically excludes <br />yard waste, recyclables, and toxic and hazardous wastes. Refuse <br />further excludes industrial, commercial, agricultural and <br />construction garbage or rubbish and wastes. <br />(I) Residential Dwelling Unit. A structure or portion <br />thereof, designated or used predominately for residential occupancy <br />of a continued nature, including one - family dwellings, two - family <br />dwellings, and multiple - dwellings of three (3) or more family <br />dwelling units, either rental or owner occupied, but not including <br />motels and hotels. <br />Page 117 <br />Page 98 <br />
