CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 809 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RELATED TO MIXED MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE <br />AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS STORAGE AND COLLECTION <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada does hereby <br />ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. <br />Chapter 809 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada <br />is hereby replaced in its entirety by the following: <br />809. MIXED MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS <br />STORAGE AND COLLECTION <br />809.010. PURPOSE AND INTENT. It is the intent of the City <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, by means of this ordinance, <br />to establish a system of complete regular mixed municipal solid <br />waste, recyclables, and yard waste collection throughout the City <br />in order to insure that the disposal of such materials is <br />accomplished in a sanitary manner, safeguarding the health of the <br />residents of the City, and to implement the State of Minnesota's <br />recycling and solid waste reduction mandates. <br />809.020. DEFINITIONS. As used in this chapter, the following <br />terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them: <br />(A) Bulky Items. Large household items, including <br />refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, water <br />heaters, carpeting and padding, mattresses, chairs, couches, <br />tables, and other such items of furniture. <br />(B) Collection. The aggregation of waste from the place at <br />which it is generated and includes all activities up to the time <br />the waste is delivered to a waste facility. <br />(C) Construction Debris. Construction debris means waste <br />building materials, packaging, and rubble resulting from <br />construction, remodeling, repair and demolition of buildings and <br />road. <br />(D) Disposal. The discharge, deposit, injection, dumping, <br />spilling, leaking or placing of any waste into or on any land or <br />waterbody so that the waste or any constituent thereof may enter <br />the environment or be emitted into the air, or discharged into any <br />waters, including ground waters. <br />-1- <br />Page 89 <br />
