(F) Hazardous Waste. Hazardous waste means refuse, sludge, <br />or other waste material or combinations of mixed municipal solid <br />waste, sludge or other waste materials in solid, semisolid, liquor <br />or contained gaseous form which, because of its quantity, <br />concentration, or chemical, physical or infectious characteristics, <br />may (1) cause or significantly contribute to an increase in <br />mortality or an increase in serious irreversible, or incapacitating <br />reversible illness; or (2) pose a substantial present or potential <br />hazard to human health or the environment when improperly treated, <br />stored, transported, or disposed of, or otherwise managed. <br />Categories of hazardous waste material include, but are not limited <br />to: explosives, flammables, oxidizers, poisons, irritants, and <br />corrosives. Hazardous waste does not include source, special <br />nuclear, or by- product materials as defined by the Atomic Energy <br />Act of 1954, as amended. <br />(G) Household Hazardous Waste. Household hazardous waste <br />means those wastes that cannot be disposed of through recycling <br />efforts or refuse collection. These include, but are not limited <br />to: aerosol cans, insecticides, liquid paint and other finishes, <br />old gasoline, paint strippers, rat poison, solvents or thinners, <br />weed killer, wood preservatives, and others that may be designated <br />by Ramsey County Division of Solid Waste. These are wastes that <br />are generated in the operation of a home and are based on limited, <br />household quantities. <br />(H) Industrial Waste. Solid waste resulting from an <br />industrial, manufacturing, service or commercial activity that is <br />managed as a separate waste stream. <br />(I) Mixed Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Garbage, other <br />refuse, appliances and furniture, and other solid waste from <br />residential, commercial, industrial, and community activities that <br />the generator of the waste aggregates for collection, but does not <br />include recyclables, yard waste, auto hulks, street sweepings, ash, <br />construction debris, mining wastes, sludges, tree and agricultural <br />wastes, tires, lead acid batteries, motor and vehicle fluids and <br />filters, and other materials collected, processed and disposed of <br />as separate waste streams. <br />(J) Place of Business. Any social, commercial, fraternal, <br />religious, educational, medical, industrial establishment, town <br />house, mobile home park, condominium or apartment building with <br />three or more dwelling units. <br />(K) Recyclable Materials. Materials <br />mixed municipal solid waste for the purpose <br />newspaper, corrugated cardboard, ledger <br />aluminum, plastic, glass, mixed mail, and <br />materials specifically excludes yard waste <br />that are separated from <br />of recycling, including <br />paper, bi -metal cans, <br />magazines.
