MEMORANDUM
northwest associated consultants, inc.
TO: Little. Canada Planning Commission
FROM: Stephen Grittman
DATE: 6 January 1987
RE: Donovan Construction CUP
FILE N0: 758.09 - 87.01
Donovan Construction Company has applied for a conditional use permit for the
purpose of placing a temporary trailer on their property. The trailer is to be
used as office space until such time as the road issue is resolved and an
expansion can be constructed for permanent space. Accessory, enclosed service
activity is a conditional use in the I -1 District subject to certain conditions
with which the owner complies. The principal issue is the use of a temporary
trailer and the existence of the building moratorium.
It is our recommendation that the CUP be granted for a number of reasons. First,
the property owner is taking steps to rectify the road situation per Council
direction. Second, the conditional use allows the City to control the duration
of the trailer facility. Any approval should be subject to the following
conditions:
6 The CUP is issued for one six month period.
• The moratorium is resolved and Donovan Construction proceeds to have the
street constructed, thereby allowing a permanent addition.
o Recommendations of the City Attorney and City Engineer.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
John Palacio
Tom Sweeney
Don Carley
Donovan Construction
Page 1
cilrignn
JAN 7 1987
CITY
OF
LITTLE CANADA
820 minnetonka blvd., ste. 200, minneapolis, mn 55416 (612) 925 -9420
