To date we have 127 persons who have signed
up to represent their communities by befriending any local victim of a hate
crime, and in helping us mobilize local support for such victims.
We especially need representation from cities and towns that do not now have
a Human Rights Commission. So please take up this request at a forthcoming
City Council meeting, and then let us know whom your representative will be
by completing and returning the enclosed form to us. The enclosed material
provides the necessary background information, which of course can be
tailored to your local needs. We would be pleased to answer any further
questions you may have on this important matter, and/or starting a local
Human Rights Commission.
We wish you and your community all the best for 1995.
encls:
Page 50
