the County to consider two eleven -foot driving lanes and two five -
foot shoulders.
Schact reported that he has plan sheets with him this evening to
show how the 32 -foot road would fit into the area, as well as its
impact on trees and fences. There will be some tree removal
necessary. Schact began a section by section review of the
improvement.
The first section runs from Edgerton 1,000 feet north. This
section only requires the widening of the street and addition of
shoulders. No impact on trees. The second section continues
further north to County Ditch #16. The culverts under the road
would be extended by 6 feet in either direction. Guard rails would
be added. The next section continues north to Lakeside Court to
house 711. Additional width and shoulders added and there is the
need to remove two large cottonwood trees. Next section is from
house 715 to 805. Additional road width - no tree removal.
Dale Kingsbury pointed out that driveways are steep in this section
and asked the effect of the additional road width on driveways.
Schact felt it possible to get the additional width in without
steepening the driveways. The County is aware that it will have to
be careful in this area. The additional width would likely be
added to both sides of the road, but that will vary depending on
the exact location.
Dean Hedlund asked if the County has made fill and cut
calculations.
Schact reported that fill and cut calculations are not done in a
maintenance project of this type.
Schact continued his section review and reported that one tree will
need to be removed in the area of 828 Keller Parkway. From 2776
Keller Parkway to Kohlman Lane there are 11 trees that will need to
be removed. Four are double oaks. Schact pointed out that there
are 225 trees within the road right -of -way for Keller Parkway.
This project will result in total removal of 14 trees.
A resident was concerned about the effect of the project on the
other oak trees around the lake. The resident predicted that 60%
of the trees will go due to the added pressure the road improvement
will cause.
Schact replied that the County hopes to shift the project as far
north as possible to stay away from trees.
Schact reported that there the project includes no curbing.
A resident asked about guard rails.
2
Page 57
