515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
February 3, 1995
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Community Survey
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
We are assuming that the only issue left to resolve with regard
to the Community Survey is the question regarding signage at the
City Center. Below is a draft question for your consideration
and comment.
Once this question is finalized, all comments will be forwarded
to Decision Resources so that they can prepare the final draft of
the survey.
The City is considering signage identifying the City Center.
Which of the following signage options would you support:
City Center Monument Sign with electronic scrolling message
board at a cost between $25,000 and $35,000 using 10%
gambling tax proceeds as the source of funding;
City Center Monument Sign at a cost between $10,000 and
$15,000 using 10% gambling tax proceeds as the source of
funding;
No additional signage at City Hall.
If yes to message board option, would you support this type
of signage even though it is currently not allowed by the
City Code and would require the City to modify the ordinance
in order to allow the sign as a permitted use?
Another option is the same questions leaving out the cost
information.
Page 76
