WELCOME <br />TO NEW <br />MEMBER <br />MINUTES <br />NICK NELSON - <br />EAGLE SCOUT <br />SERVICE <br />PROJECT <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 6, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 6th day of February, 2014, in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Patti Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Katie McGinnity, Parks & Rec <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Prod. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />On behalf of the entire Commission, Patti Sullivan welcomed new <br />member Dave Miller. She also congratulated Jeff Ileikke, Thomas <br />Maida, and Kevin Steinert on their reappointment. <br />The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the November 7, <br />2014 meeting. <br />Nick Nelson appeared before the Commission to present an <br />improvement he would like to do as part of the Veterans Memorial as <br />he is working towards his Eagle Scout designation. The project consists <br />of the installation of a paver area and picnic table that would be <br />incorporated into the Veterans Memorial Park area. Nelson asked if the <br />City would be willing to donate the paver bricks to the project. Sanders <br />replied that the City would furnish the pavers to ensure that the type and <br />color of pavers is consistent throughout the project. Sanders anticipated <br />that the paved picnic table area would be located near Round Lake, and <br />the location would become more specific as the project moves forward. <br />Nelson reported that he will need to obtain approval from the Boy Scouts <br />for this project, and wanted to ensure that he had project approval from <br />the City.
