Mayor & City Council
May 19, 1995
Page 2
compliance issues which the CDBG will fund.
* Storage needs of the Recreation Association need to be
pinned down in order to properly plan for their
accommodation.
* Canadian Days no longer needs storage space in the
facility.
* Leasing of the downstairs facility is up in the air.
Concerns were voiced regarding competition with
existing businesses and potential liability issues
raised for the City. These will be evaluated further
and reacted to after community survey results are
available.
We are now preparing a request for proposals for architectural
services. It is anticipated that an architect could be on board
within the next two to three weeks and that the project will move
forward rapidly from that point.
Given this change in approach for completion of this project, I
felt the Council should be made aware of this. Should you have
any comments or questions, they should be discussed at this
Wednesday's Council meeting.
JRH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 97
