MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA MARCH 6, 2014 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 6th day of March, 2014, in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. Vice Chair Kong Vang called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. and the following members of the commission were present: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Kong Vang Ms. Linda Fahey Mr. Jeff Heikke Mr. Tom Maida Mr. Dave Miller Mr. Kevin Steinert ABSENT: Ms. Patti Sullivan ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Prod. Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the February 6, 2014 meeting. ICE CREAM The Director reported that for the last several years the City has hosted SOCIAL an Ice Cream Social on the Thursday prior to the Canadian Days Celebration. Kevin Steinert has coordinated this event. Steinert noted that the event includes the Ramsey County K9 Unit, Little Canada Fire Department, Roseville Parks & Recreation Department puppet wagon, and clowns. Culver's has provided and served the refreshments. The Director asked if was consensus to continue the event, and, if so, any suggestions for changes. The Commission was in agreement to continue the event, which will be held on Thursday, July 31St, 2014. The Director indicated that the Commission will be updated on this event over the next few months. LEAH The Director noted that at the last Commission meeting, Commissioners BROECHER were asked for ideas relative to the Leah Broecher Estate donation of DONATION $5,000 to be used in Spooner Park. Sanders suggested a landscape - TO SPOONER oriented improvement given Broecher's interests, and noted that there PARK are areas of the park in need of reforestation.
