MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 6, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 6th day of March, 2014, in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Vice Chair Kong Vang called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ABSENT: Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Prod. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the February 6, <br />2014 meeting. <br />ICE CREAM The Director reported that for the last several years the City has hosted <br />SOCIAL an Ice Cream Social on the Thursday prior to the Canadian Days <br />Celebration. Kevin Steinert has coordinated this event. Steinert noted <br />that the event includes the Ramsey County K9 Unit, Little Canada Fire <br />Department, Roseville Parks & Recreation Department puppet wagon, <br />and clowns. Culver's has provided and served the refreshments. The <br />Director asked if was consensus to continue the event, and, if so, any <br />suggestions for changes. The Commission was in agreement to continue <br />the event, which will be held on Thursday, July 31St, 2014. The Director <br />indicated that the Commission will be updated on this event over the next <br />few months. <br />LEAH The Director noted that at the last Commission meeting, Commissioners <br />BROECHER were asked for ideas relative to the Leah Broecher Estate donation of <br />DONATION $5,000 to be used in Spooner Park. Sanders suggested a landscape - <br />TO SPOONER oriented improvement given Broecher's interests, and noted that there <br />PARK are areas of the park in need of reforestation. <br />
