17n /lip .•11l <br />;171,11,1 <br />Management <br />CL.fiAN <br />WATE <br />LAND K <br />LEGACY <br />sna,i a <br />o The Communities veterans and their families will be appropriately honored, <br />recognized and remembered for their sacrifice and service to their country. <br />o Visitors to the site, including both adults and children, will be inspired, humbled and <br />educated by the service of veterans to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. <br />o The public park will be improved for the enjoyment, beauty and reflection of all who <br />visit. <br />o The project will provide jobs, economic development and neighborhood <br />improvement. <br />o The project will reflect and contribute t the arts and cultural heritage of the <br />community. <br />The project will support the following desired outcomes for use of the Arts and Cultural <br />Heritage Fund: <br />o Arts, culture and history will be interwoven into every facet of community life. <br />o There will be an increase in the number of Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, <br />abilities and incomes who participate in the arts, culture and history. <br />o People will trust Minnesota's stewardship of public arts, culture and history funding. <br />o Arts, culture and history will thrive in Minnesota. <br />o Increased student exposure to professional performing arts, and the work of <br />professional artists. <br />o Increased number of K -12 students who can affordably learn to read music and play a <br />musical instrument, participate in dance, choral, drama and other performing arts for <br />which financial barriers can limit access to this educational experience. <br />o Increase in the visual and literary artists in Minnesota who report that they earn over <br />half of their income from their art. <br />o Increase in the locally focused content and Minnesota focused content produced by <br />public television and radio, and an increase in the number of local artists, historians, <br />writers and others that have their work showcased through public broadcasting. <br />o Increased focus on Minnesota artists in Minnesota museums and literary <br />performances. <br />o Increased knowledge and awareness of the way that history affects people's lives and <br />how that knowledge can help people make informed decisions for the future. <br />The City will evaluate and measure the outcomes of the project and submit the required reports to <br />the State, using approved assessment methods, including the following criteria: <br />o The participation of all people in the project, including students, artists and the public. <br />Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund <br />Competitive Veterans Memorial Grants FY 14 Page 4 of 18 <br />6 <br />
