MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 26, 2014 <br />Keis asked how long the water tower would be out of service. The <br />Superintendent estimated between 8 and 10 weeks. I -Ie indicated, <br />however, that there will be no interruption in water service to the City's <br />customers. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -2 -44 — AWARDING THE QUOTE OF SEH <br />ENGINEERING IN THE AMOUNT OF $635,250 UNDER THE <br />DESIGN /BUILD OPTION FOR REFURBISHING THE CITY'S <br />WATER TOWER AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ROAD Montour thanked the Public Works Department for keeping the City's <br />CONDITIONS streets clear. The Superintendent reported that it has been a challenging <br />year and noted that salt is now in short supply. He indicated that the <br />Department may be using some sand on City streets until icy conditions <br />are no longer present. The Superintendent reported, however, that studies <br />have shown that sand is not as effective as salt and sand has a detrimental <br />impact on the environment. <br />TCAAP The City Administrator reported that Ramsey County is asking that the <br />RESOLUTION Council adopt a resolution supporting their efforts in seeking funding for <br />roadway improvements at 35W /Highway 96 and 35W /County Road II <br />relative to their plans for redevelopment of the Twin Cities Army <br />Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) site. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -2 -45 - SUPPORTING RAMSEY COUNTY'S <br />REQUEST FOR TCAAP ROAD IMPROVEMENTS AT <br />35W /HIGHWAY 96 AND 35W /COUNTY ROAD H <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0).
