MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 26, 2014
it. The County Road B site has been sold at a profit and has been put back
on the tax rolls.
The second was the former Roseville Plumbing site and it was determined
that this site had more potential as part of a larger redevelopment project
for the area. The former Roseville Plumbing site will be back on the tax
rolls when the area redevelops. The Administrator noted that the current
Public Works Garage site will be sold and back on the tax rolls once the
new facility is constructed. The Administrator also noted that by having
the Public Works /Parks Garage on the east side of the freeway, it is
feasible to include the City's Parks Department operation in the new
facility.
The Administrator then presented elevations of the building exterior. He
noted that the building is comparable to those in other cities. The
Administrator reported that this facility will serve Little Canada for many
years to come.
With regard to paying for the new facility, the City Administrator
indicated that debt payments will come from water and sewer depreciation
that is already being funded. Debt service payments will be approximately
$231,000 per year. The City will not need to increase water and sewer
rates or increase tax levies to make these payments. The Administrator
did note, however, that should the State adversely impact the City's levy
authority, the City has the option to levy for this debt service to give us
some financial flexibility. However, there is no plan to do so at this time.
There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Montour, seconded by Boss, the public hearing was
closed.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2019 -2 -39 — ADOPTING AN ORDINANCE
REZONING 2858 CENTERVILLE ROAD FROM INDUSTRIAL -
PARK (I -P) DISTRICT TO PUBLIC (P) DISTRICT FOR FUTURE
DEVELOPMENT OF A PUBLIC WORKS /PARKS GARAGE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (3).
Nays (0).
