MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City
Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 9th day of
April, 2007 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515
Little Canada Road in said City.
APRIL 9, 2007
Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the
following members of the City Council were present at roll call:
CITY COUNCIL:
Mayor
Council Member
Council Member
Council Member
Mr. Bill Blesener
Mr. John Keis
Mr. Michael McGraw
Mr. Rick Montour
ABSENT
ALSO PRESENT:
Council Member
City Administrator
Code Enf Officer
City Clerk
Ms. Barbara Allan
Mr. Joel R. Hanson
Ms. Jessica Jagoe
Ms. Kathy Glanzer
INFORMATION The purpose of tonight's workshop is to conduct an information update
UPDATE meeting with the Council Council and staff to review a number of issues.
PUBLIC The City Adminish•ator reported that there appears to be four potential
WORKS sites for a new Public Works Garage. Those include the McGough
GARAGE property, the Valor property, Lee Rossow property on Ryan Lane, and the
Schrier property on Spruce Street. The Administrator gave a brief
description of each site pointing out the unique challenges of each. The
Administrator indicated that the City will need approximately 2 acres for
the Public Works Garage.
The City Administrator indicated that his preference would be the
McGough property. The problem is that McGough wants to do a
coordinated development with the City, redeveloping the properties south
to Lake Owasso Blvd. Roseville Plumbing has indicated that they are not
interested in selling their property. Donovan Construction is willing as
long as they are included in the redevelopment or another location found
for their business.
The Administrator indicated that the Schrier property may be the next best
site; however, eminent domain will likely be needed to acquire this site.
