MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />APRIL 3, 2014 <br />Maida asked if six tournaments was the maximum that the fields could <br />endure over the season. The Director thought so pointing out that it also <br />depends on the weather conditions. The Director again pointed out the <br />impact that tournaments have on the surrounding neighborhood. <br />Heikke recommended adoption of the Athletic Field Usage Guidelines as <br />proposed by the Commission /Staff Review Committee. <br />Motion seconded by Fahey. <br />Motion carried 6 — 0. <br />MARKET The Director reported that the next Market Place Morning Talk is <br />PLACE scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The <br />MORNING topic will be "Medicare Fraud ". <br />TALK <br />GERVAIS The Director reported that the Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed <br />MILL District has been doing some maintenance in Gervais Mill Park this winter <br />PARK improving erosion control into the creek area. This spring the Watershed <br />will do a controlled burn of prairie grass in the park. <br />The Director also noted that the Youth Division of the MN Conservation <br />Corps was going to do some work in Gervais Mill at the direction of the <br />Watershed. However, Watershed personnel were not available on the <br />designated day. Therefore, the City was asked if it could accommodate <br />the group, which then did some work in Spooner Park. <br />SUSAN G. The Director reported that the Susan G. Komen Three -Day walk has made <br />KOMEN Little Canada a part of its route for their event in late August. The group <br />THREE -DAY has asked to use the lower shelter at Spooner Park and Thunder Bay Park <br />as stops along the walk. The Director reported that he will provide the <br />Commission with more information as the event comes nearer. <br />LCRA The Director reported that the Little Canada Recreation Association's 20th <br />GOLF Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2013 at Gem <br />TOURNAMENT Lake Hills Golf Course. <br />5 <br />
