Montour noted that <br />under the current franchise agreement, Con.east pays for the use of the <br />public rights-of-way, and then charges their subscribers a fee to cover this <br />cost. Eliminating this fee from the renewed franchise will result the loss <br />of funding to televise local events as well as access to training and <br />equipment. Montour encouraged the general public to attend the public <br />hearing. If unable to attend, he suggested that a written statement of <br />support be submitted to The North Suburban Communications <br />Commission or emailed to peakUp(a),ctv15.org. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -4 -65 — APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; <br />*APPROVAL OF OFF -SITE GAMBLING PERMIT FOR LITTLE <br />CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION; <br />*ADOPTING 2014 TRASH & RECYCLING RATES AND AMENDING <br />CITY FEE SCHEDULE RELATIVE ACCORDINGLY; <br />*APPROVING THE HIRING OFA STREET SWEEPER OPERATOR <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />SUPERINTENDENT; <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AWARD BID The City Administrator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated <br />FOR April 4, 2014 recommending award of the low bid submitted by Palda <br />McMENEMY & Sons in the amount of $4,082,463.64 for the joint Maplewood /Little <br />ROAD Canada project in the Arkwright - Sunrise - McMenemy Street area. The <br />IMPROVE- Administrator noted that the majority of the project is in the City of <br />MENT Maplewood and the project will be managed by that city. The portion of <br />the project that is in Little Canada involves the west side of McMenemy <br />Street. The Little Canada portion of project costs was estimated at <br />$243,000 and the bid came in at $250,000. The remainder of project costs <br />are the responsibility of the City of Maplewood. The Administrator noted <br />that the project involves street reconstruction, replacement of old <br />watermain, and drainage enhancements. He also noted that the City has <br />2 <br />
