quantities. The original assessment amounts presented at the Public Hearing were left
on the preliminary assessment roll to show the change in each properties assessment.
It is important to note that the low bid is still based on estimated quantities. While all
efforts are made to accurately estimate quantities, field conditions can vary from those
anticipated and can result in an increase or decrease in the quantities used. That
increase or decrease in quantities will affect the final assessments. Therefore we do
anticipate that the final assessment amounts will be either slightly higher or lower than
those presented on this preliminary assessment roll.
Based on the fact that the low bid for the total project is below the Engineer's estimate,
City staff is recommending that the City Council approve award of the project at their
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 meeting. If you have any questions or concerns regarding
your assessment or the recommended action of awarding the project please contact Lee
Elfering (City Engineer) at 763 - 780 -0450 Ext. 3 or Joel Hanson (City Administrator) at
651- 766 -4029 to discuss your concerns. The Council meeting on the 23ftl is open to the
public and as always you are welcome to attend.
cc, Joel Hanson, City Administrator
3
