F�uR�hc AlSOa.aTtS To: Schletty Drive Property Owners From: Lee Elfering, City Engineer Date: April 17, 2014 RE: Revised Assessments Based On Low Bid Received Proposed Project Award The City has received bids on the 2014 Street and Trail Improvements project, which included the work on Schletty Drive that was outlined at the Public Hearing earlier this year. A total of six (6) bids were received and the total low bid for the project was slightly below the final Engineer's estimate for the work. However, the costs for all portions of the project were not all individually lower. As indicated at the Public Hearing, City staff and Council wanted to inform you of the bid results and the affect of the bids on the assessments prior to City Council action on award of the project. The table below summarizes the project costs and assessments presented at the time of the Public Hearing and those estimated based on the low bid received for the Schletty Drive portion of the project. As you can see the street portion of the project was slightly lower than estimated, but the watermain cost was slightly higher. Please be aware that the street lighting was not part of this bid, so we have utilized the original estimated cost in both columns of the table. The street assessment was based on a rehabilitation of Schletty Drive with only minor curb repair and was not significantly different from the original estimate; therefore we are proposing that the street assessment remain the same. The final page of this mailer contains a revised preliminary assessment roll similar to the one presented at the Public Hearing.
