MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 26, 2014. *APPROVAL OFA REFUND OF 10% FUND OVERPAYMENT TO LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION FOR 2012 AND 2013; *APPROVAL 0F2014 TREE CONTRACTING SERVICES TO PRECISION LANDSCAPE & TREE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (3) Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FIRE The City Administrator presented the Council with a 90 -day contract DEPARTMENT with the Little Canada Fire Department, extending the current contract CONTRACT through June 30, 2014. He noted that this will provide additional time to study the issue of Fire Relief Pension Benefits and bring a recommendation back to the Council. It was hoped that the study would be completed by March 31 rt; however, the additional time is needed. Contract language remains the same except for the extension date and signature line for the Acting Mayor. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; RESOLUTION NO. 2014-2-43 - APROVING THE CONTRACT EXTENSION THROUGH JUNE 30, 2014 WITH THE LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT AS PRESENTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ACTING MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. Ayes (3). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. WATER The Public Works Superintendent reviewed his report dated February TOWER 20, 2014 outlining the need to repaint the City's water tower. He reported REFURBISH- that the water tower was last painted in 1989. The Superintendent MENT noted that this painting lasted for 25 years, which is at least 5 years longer than the average. The water tower has been inspected numerous times over the past 15 years and the most recent inspection resulted in the following recommendation; o Blast and repaint the interior wet surface of the tank; 10 15
