515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-1029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.1 ittle-canada.mn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: May 21, 2014
RE: Call for Workshop Meeting — Wednesday, June 11, 2014, 6:00 p.m.
City Center Project Work Scope
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John ICeis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. I-lanson
As the Council is aware, a listing of potential City Center improvements was developed by City
staff. At the last meeting the Council authorized Mary Schauer of James J. Steele Construction
to proceed with the smaller, minor repairs that need to be made at the City Center on a time and
materials basis. James J. Steele Construction, our construction manager, has put together
preliminary cost estimates for the more significant improvements. Given budget limitations, it is
not likely we can proceed with the entire list. Therefore, staff is recommending that a workshop
sleeting be helcl so that the Council can prioritize the list and determine which items to proceed
with.
We also want to spend some time with Oertel's interior design specialist, Brenda Dever, to
review Council Room enhancements and get your direction on what you would like the room to
look like. (Brenda is preparing some options for your to react to.)
