MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 11, 2014
The Superintendent reported that the City is now operating under a new
SWPPP permit, and he and the City Engineer will be working over the
next year to ensure compliance with all permit requirements.
Jack Schmidt, 2718 Edgerton Street, expressed concern about a drainage
problem on his property indicating that run-off is not flowing into a nearby
rain water garden as it should be. Schmidt indicated that, as a result, there
has been damage to his yard. The Superintendent noted that it is his
understanding that the City Engineer is working with the contractor on this
matter. The Administrator suggested that Mr. Schmidt continue working
with the City Engineer; and if the matter is not resolved, to then contact
him.
There was no one else present from the general public wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Montour, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was
closed.
Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2014-6-97 — ACCEPTING THE 2013 STORM
WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM REPORT AS
SUBMITTED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). The North Suburban Cable Commission (NCSS),
which has ten member cities of which Little Canada is one, and Comcast
have been in negotiations relative to the franchise renewal.
Emmet Coleman, representing Comcast, appeared before the Council. He
noted that the issue before the Council this evening is to act on the
recommendation of NCSS for preliminary denial of the Comcast Cable
franchise proposal. Coleman indicated that he was present this evening to
point out to the City that the point that this franchise renewal process is at
is highly unusual. Coleman stated that he also wanted to inform the City
3
