MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 11, 2014
the dais. McGraw recommended that computer charging connections be
added as well as any other appropriate wiring. The Administrator noted
that CTV is assisting with the cabling design for this room. Dever noted
that the Cable Room paint and carpet replacement will need to be
coordinated with the installation of new cable equipment. Van Alstine
will coordinate this with CTV.
The Lounge/Kitchen — Room 109 was reviewed. Boss suggested the
installation of an exterior door and patio off the kitchen. Pricing will be
obtained. There was discussion about a stove with Stromsodt indicating
that this improvement was dependent on whether exterior venting was
necessary. The City Clerk will discuss this with the Building Official.
The remaining areas of discussion were Hall 110, Restrooms — Rooms
111 and 112, Open Office Area — Room 113, Corridor — Room 114,
Restrooms 119 and 120, and Private Offices. The Administrator
suggested that pricing be obtained for ceiling improvements, i.e.
eliminating the popcorn ceilings.
With regard to the exterior of the building, the City Administrator reported
that the City Engineer is obtaining pricing for improvement sidewalk
areas. The Construction Manager reported that the exterior of the building
has been inspected and there appears to be no rot of exterior materials.
Paint and caulking will be necessary. The exterior of windows have a
clad material.
There was discussion of the Historical Society case, with the consensus
being that this case needs to be redesigned. Van Alstine suggested the
installation of an additional light in this hallway.
The Construction Manager noted that the City's Capital Improvement
Budget for this project is $150,000 and that this budget level will likely
only cover the furnace and electrical improvements. It was noted that the
Cable Fund will cover the cost of Council Chamber improvements. The
consensus was that the architect and designer should put together cost
estimates for the various improvements discussed. The Council will then
review the improvements and decide which will move forward.
ADJOURN There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
Attest:
Joel
11 am
nson, City Administrator
4
esener, Mayor
