MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Keis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048 ADMINISTRATOR
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: July 9, 2014
RE:
Temporary Liquor Licenses — Little Canada Recreation Association
Canadian Days Tournament — August 1-3, 2014
Kickball Tournament — September 6, 2014
The Little Canada Recreation Association (LCRA) has made application for the above
Temporary Liquor Licenses. In 2012 LCRA submitted the attached letter outlining their
liquor rules for the control of alcohol sold at their Canadian Days Tournament. LCRA
initially adopted liquor rules for their 2011 Tournament, and at a meeting on May 7,
2012, adopted some additional changes to these rules (see attached). The most
significant change is that LCRA will limit sales to a maximum of four per person, and the
"half racks" will be used only to assist customers in transporting their purchases. Please
note that the Canadian Days Committee also limits the number of servings per person to
four.
I have contacted Mike Morelan, the current LCRA President, and he agrees that these
same rules would be in effect for 2014.
As a result, City staff recommends approval of the above listed Temporary Liquor
Licenses for the Little Canada Recreation Association.
